Easter Puppet Update

We’ve just completed our Easter Puppet Ministry Outreach reaching over 1,800 kids over the past three weeks. Take a look at this short video to see the message we bring through these shows:

What an amazing open door to be able to share these truths about Jesus in public schools throughout northeastern Hungary!

Praise God for the safety he provided as we traveled with our trailer packed with the puppet stage and supplies.

Above: A shadow puppet scene depicts Jesus' trial and also His crucifixion. In one school I could hear the kids in the audience talking to one another. "Oh, no He died!" Another kid responds, "Yeah, but He said that he would be raised from the dead!"

We praise God for the Easter Puppet show successfully grabbing the attention of kids from preschool to middle school. We also visited a few special needs schools where the teachers said that their kids talk about our shows all the time. There were no problems with distractions and in each town, the kids paid attention to the puppet show which is around 25 minutes in total.

Above: At the end of our show, Erika gives a short object lesson and review of what the kids learned and afterward we repeat the song we began the show with about the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Check out the short clip below to see some of the teaching and a translation of what we sang in public schools.

While packing up after the show, I could hear kids from multiple schools continuing to sing "He lives, He lives, He lives, the Lord lives" as they returned to their classes.

Above: Children approach Erika after the show with interesting questions. "What happens if I die and I'm not raised from the dead?" "How was Jesus raised from the dead?" "If He was risen, He must live in a different country now." This gave Erika some time to reiterate the beauty of the gospel and faith in Jesus who gives us eternal life.

Above: One of our last shows was held in the neighboring village of Rózsaszentmárton where our daughter Ziva attends. As we reported last Christmas, this school had not allowed us to come for many years because of a principal that opposed us. Since the principal changed last year, we were allowed to come at Christmas and now this Easter. We also have a church member that has become a teacher at this school, and we have hopes that one day there will be a church plant in this town. We were thankful for the warm reception. One of the teachers recorded the singing portion at the end of our show and posted it on their school's Facebook page saying, "The kids learned about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and they were all in with the singing!" Praise God for the door He has kept open in Hungary to speak so openly about life in His Son in public schools!

I thank God for how He has allowed us to remain in Hungary over these past 25 years through so many of you that faithfully and generously give each month. Thanks for partnering with us in this ministry! May the Lord Jesus bless you with peace and joy this Easter season as we celebrate His victory over all that separated us from God. Jesus is risen!
